The Question on baby Gender – sent in by parents-to-be who want to know is “how accurate is our scan prediction and when can we have the scan?”:
In advising mums and dads who want to know the gender of their baby, we would strongly suggest they have a scan after 18 weeks.
After this week, the scan results you’ll be getting are normally reliable. The reliability for determining the sex at twenty weeks normally much better than 95% in our experience at Bumps 4D. Which is, if the person scanning, be they a sonographer obstetrician, has been able to capture the tail end of the baby.
If the baby is not positioned well, such as when the limbs are closed or maybe the baby isn’t active, this could mean greater difficult or even failure to positively idenfity if it is a boy or girl.
In uncertain circumstances about your baby’s sex, you can always have the scan once more. There is no need to be concerned about the effect of repeated scanning. Note that some expectant ladies who’re at substantial risk receive scans more than once each week.
Ideally, you want to get a 4D scan in between 24-32 weeks, because a gender scan comes in free!
During your 4D baby scan you will see the gender, and also see the baby move, kick, grin, poke his nose, or yawn.
The whole package including the 4D video and colour photos of the baby’s face form an unforgettable pregnancy memories; beyond knowing whether the baby you are carrying is a boy or girl
